Earnest request to the administration: please do something with all these spambots here! Anybody!
- If anyone cares, here is a simple anti-spam extension.
Unfortunately the plugin there in itself is not an anti spam tool, just the framework for one. It will not stop spam. We've installed recaptcha, which is usually sufficient at beating spam. The bots which are targeting this wiki however are able to beat the anti spam. I am looking into more thorough protection which made include country wide ip bans for the sources of the spam.
It kinda makes me wonder when I see hundreds of spam accounts most of them having their own page, while human users who want to contribute to the Wiki, cannot even make a page. Although, looking over the recent changes, thank God the spam bots don't have much power. Since the only admin and bureaucrat hasn't done anything since 12/2/12, I guess this wiki won't get going until the beta is released. Acmed (talk) 15:45, 28 April 2013 (CDT)
